Paul Wesley is as brooding as ever as he steps out for The CW Network’s 2014 Upfront Presentation held at The London Hotel on Thursday morning (May 15) in New York City.

The 31-year-old Vampire Diaries star was joined at the event by his on-screen leading lady Nina Dobrev.

“I didn’t really know until I was at the table read (laughs),” Paul told JJJ about Stefan’s shocking death in the last episode. “I thought it was fantastic. I love twists and turns. It really got me. Maybe he’ll come back, I don’t know. It was wonderful.”

“You don’t have to be strong to survive a bad situation. You simply need a plan.” – Shannon L. Alder

In this week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, Marcos unleashes on Mystic Falls his brutal spell to break the witches curse. Damon sets a trap for Marcos; Bonnie and Enzo race against time to try to stop the demise of the Other Side; Stefan gives relationship advice to Elena; Caroline’s rescue from Tyler ends in a unforeseen tragedy.

As the episode opens at the Salvatore house, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) sprays water on a gagged and bound guy to wake him up. Damon checks a paper in the man’s pocket and sees he is formerly a Mr. Sykes of corporate accounting, now with a Passenger in his body. The man grunts repeatedly through the gag and Damon politely tells him he doesn’t want to hear the migraine inducing Traveler chanting. Damon says his girlfriend (not ex?) and brother have gone poof into thin air and besides a clueless hybrid in his basement, and a cave full of sleeping Travelers, he needs Sykes to tell him where he can find his leader, Marcos. He’s interrupted as Caroline (Candice Accola) walks through the front door complaining that she can’t reach Liv and Luke and stops in her tracks. She tells a surprised Damon she recognizes Sykes. He was the guy who helped her open her first bank account and gave her a lollipop (Seriously? How old is this guy?). Damon informs Caroline that he saw Sykes in the town square with the other possessed towns people the previous week. Damon tells Sykes he knows all about Marcos’ plan to break the ancient witch curse, and it would suck because it would kill off him and his “sexy blond frenemy” (Ohhh, Damon, such a backhanded compliment). Caroline demands that Sykes tell them where Elena and Stefan are as Damon plants a knife in Syke’s leg. Damon removes the gag off the screaming Sykes who says it doesn’t matter where Marcos is, because Damon can do nothing to stop the spell.

We didn’t think we could love Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev or jewelry brand gorjana more than we do now, but we were wrong. In an effort to raise funds and spread awareness of epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a painful and life-threatening genetic disorder, the two have joined forces on a 24-piece curated selection of Dobrev’s favorite gorjana pieces, with 50 to 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation (EBMRF).

The cause holds a special place in gorjana founder Gorjana Reidel’s heart who, as a mom of two, first connected with the foundation almost a decade ago after meeting a mother whose son was diagnosed with EB. As such, the “Nina 4 EBMRF” collection is available now until May 14th, deliberately slated to coincide with Mother’s Day.

“As a mom, I really wanted to find a way to raise awareness and help the children and families affected by this painful and life-altering disorder,” Reidel said in a statement. “I am truly inspired by the strength and sense of community shown by those affected.”

The “Nina 4 EBMRF” collection encompasses delicate, whimsical gold jewelry pieces, with butterfly, star, and heart motifs, alongside bold black enamel standouts. Our favorites? In addition to the shimmery key ring, two-tone chevron necklace, and stacked bands (all pictured above), we adore the heart cut-out ring and the rose gold arrow cuff. Oh, and the star studs. Basically, everything. Now, it’s your turn: Show your support and shop the collection at

Silicon Valley star Thomas Middleditch and The Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev have joined The Final Girls, a horror comedy from Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions being directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson.

Also joining the production are Adam Devine (Pitch Perfect, Comedy Central’s Workaholics) and Alexander Ludwig (Hunger Games).

Malin Akerman and Taissa Farmiga are starring in the meta movie which centers on a girl who, along with her friends, is mysteriously transported into the world of an iconic ’80s horror flick, which starred her recently deceased mother (Akerman), a famous scream queen. The group must try to survive the movie and defeat its crazed killer.

Mark Fortin and Joshua John Miller wrote the script. Michael London and Janice Williams are producing via their Groundswell Productions banner.

London has described the project as being “the unlikely child of Back to the Future and Friday the 13th.”

Middleditch will play a film geek for whom landing in a classic horror flick is a dream come true, until it turns into a nightmare. Dobrev will play the alpha ex-best friend.
