Feb 24th: ‘The Vampire Diaries’: Candice Accola on Caroline’s many boys and a ‘very significant’ episode

Natalie | Categories: Candice Accola, Interviews, News, Season 2, Spoilers, The Vampire Diaries | Comments Off on ‘The Vampire Diaries’: Candice Accola on Caroline’s many boys and a ‘very significant’ episode

You know you’ve made it big when you get an article about you in the LA Times. Candice Accola and her “Vampire Barbie” character, Caroline Forbes, are the focal point of a nicely written article from the prestigious newspaper. Read on…

“I could not be happier about the opportunities the writers have given me this season,” she enthuses. “It’s been challenging in all the best ways.”

Recently, Accola chatted with Show Tracker about some of those challenges, including that horrific torture scene — nobody puts Caroline in the cage! — getting to sing in tonight’s episode, Tyler’s betrayal and the chemistry between Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline. She also teases that viewers are in store for “a very big episode” tonight, which will be the last new one until April. Like Caroline, we’ll have to figure out a way to survive, Show Trackers.

Was the torture scene difficult to film? Because it was difficult to watch, in a good way.

Thank you! I definitely take that as a compliment. Any time you read those kinds of scenes in a script, it is kind of a bittersweet thing because you know what you’re going to want to put yourself through in order to get the best out of it. And also, yeah, it’s long hours in a confined space. All that was shot really in a little trailer. Shoving 15 people into one trailer…. And I was in a cage that was unable to be unlocked from the inside. The surroundings just helped out so wonderfully and were such a wonderful tool to use within the scene. I was excited, though. It was a wonderfully daunting task, but those are always the best, ’cause that’s when you see what you’re capable of doing.

The first time we talked this season, I brought up the fact that you have a very musically talented cast. And now you’re getting to sing in tonight’s episode. What’s the context for Caroline breaking into song?

I know, it is very random! [Laughs] I think that Caroline has come off such a dramatic shift. The entire season has been very supernaturally active for Caroline. I think what was such a beautiful moment at the end of that one episode was when Bonnie (Katerina Graham) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) came over to have a slumber party. Simple, truthful, honest, like necessary. It’s a great reminder that these are young girls that really just need. At the end of the day, sometimes you really just need that sense of friendship and camaraderie and love in the simplest form, like a slumber party. So I think Tyler has been the center of what’s been going on dramatically for Caroline in the past couple episodes, and now with him gone, I think it gives her an opportunity to try to feel human again and just to be silly again and have fun again and laugh again, and focus on her friendships and her relationships and her family. I think the whole idea of jumping up on stage and singing is just Caroline being Season 1 Caroline again.

Is she doing this also to maybe get Matt’s attention?

[Pauses] I don’t know… [Laughs] I think it’s just a really fun moment. I’m excited to see how it plays out, as well, because I haven’t seen a cut of the episode yet. And I’m excited for the audience to see it too.

Feb 24th: The Vampire Diaries: Caroline Gets Ready to… Sing?

Natalie | Categories: Candice Accola, Season 2, Spoilers, The Vampire Diaries | Comments Off on The Vampire Diaries: Caroline Gets Ready to… Sing?

Candice Accola talks about what’s to come, including adding her own real life musical talent to the series.

IGN: I saw some pictures from this week’s episode and it looks like we might be hearing your singing voice. So will Caroline Forbes be showing off a talent we haven’t been exposed to as yet?

Accola: I think so, yeah. The pictures I think speak for themselves. Caroline definitely gets on stage and rocks out a little bit. It was just so funny, because when I moved to LA — because that’s why I initially moved to Los Angeles, was to pursue a career in music – and I got signed to a label and did the whole record thing, it was at a time when cross-marketing was just really kind of important and significant to labels, because it was right when all of them were merging and starting to go under, with music being so popular digitally. So they actually asked me to start pushing acting more and to get on a CW show and to sing on a CW show – that would be the ticket! And so it was so funny, because it’s like seven years too late. [Laughs] It’s never too late, but it’s seven years later and to have the opportunity unexpectedly was really, really fun.

Feb 24th: The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder Tells Us What’s Ahead for Damon, and It Involves Whiskey

Natalie | Categories: Ian Somerhalder, Interviews, News, Season 2, Spoilers, The Vampire Diaries | Comments Off on The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder Tells Us What’s Ahead for Damon, and It Involves Whiskey

While Jeremy is going to start kicking ass and getting all up in everyone’s business on The Vampire Diaries, Damon will be taking a different route.

And who better to explain the hows and the whys of Damon Salvatore than the man who plays him? We’re of course talking about the only-OK-looking Ian Somerhalder, who can describe Damon’s future path in one sentence…
“Damon spends all of his money in strip clubs and whiskey,” Ian tells us with a laugh. “Why not, right?” The best part is he sounds like he’s kidding, but no one would be surprised if Damon dealt with his demons by turning to booze and bimbos.”He had that crazy breakdown, and it’s a little scary when people bottle all their pain up and never let it out. It comes out typically in a negative way and that’s kind of what’s happening with Damon,” Ian says. “He’s just bottling it all up and he never lets it out. It’s not like Damon is going to go to a hot yoga class! No, he’s going to go drink a bottle of booze and he’s going to fight someone or he’s going to compel the hot local newscaster.”

Feb 6th: News: Information About LJ Smith’s ‘Alleged’ Firing

Natalie | Categories: Books, L.J. Smith, News | Comments Off on News: Information About LJ Smith’s ‘Alleged’ Firing

As you know, we, at Blood Falls maintain a no gossip and no paparazzi policy. I like to keep that policy in full effect, which is why we haven’t reported anything about the alleged firing of The Vampire Diaries author, L.J. Smith.

Our friends over at Vampire-Diaries.net do have a post in regards to this and they are hoping to be able to kill or confirm the rumours as quickly as possible. Here is what they had to say about it:

We are aware of the four letters that L.J. Smith has allegedly written to fans stating that she has been fired by HarperTeen/Alloy and will no longer be writing any Vampire Diaries books. We cannot comment on whether or not these are real, or if she has indeed been fired by the publishers.

We are trying to find this information out, and have contacted the publishers for official word on the matter. We will let you know as soon as we hear any kind of official word on the matter. We do ask for you to be patient though, as today is Sunday and we may not hear anything until tomorrow at the earliest when people are back at work.

You can read their full article over here and I’m going to chime in and say the same as them. Do NOT spam Harper Teen. Do NOT spam Alloy Entertainment. Whether or not this rumour is true, we need to respect the decisions made. With that said, I will not allow comments on this post to keep the peace among all fans. Thank you for understanding.

Jan 30th: ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Michael Trevino talks love triangle: ‘There’s going to be awesome awkwardness’

Natalie | Categories: Michael Trevino, News, Season 2, Spoilers, The Vampire Diaries | Comments Off on ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Michael Trevino talks love triangle: ‘There’s going to be awesome awkwardness’

Carina from Zap2It sat down with Michael Trevino recently (she does that a lot… Lucky journalist I tell you. Lucky! lol!)

“I have a nice little surround system so the sound’s really good. That’s what got me. The CGI, the visual effects were great, and I liked certain cuts that they used within mine and Candice’s performance, but it wasn’t until I was home. It was crazy to hear all the sound they’d put in in post-production — bones cracking and everything.”

The idea of watching Tyler experience that kind of excruciating pain every month makes us uneasy — but not as uneasy as it makes Trevino. He confirms that within the often ambiguous “Vampire Diaries” time line there will be one more full moon before Season 2 wraps up, but he hopes it won’t be quite as brutal.

Jan 28th: FROM THE SET: EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Matt Davis (Alaric) from The Vampire Diaries

Natalie | Categories: Exclusive, Matt Davis, News, Sara Canning, The Vampire Diaries | Comments Off on FROM THE SET: EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Matt Davis (Alaric) from The Vampire Diaries

The T.V Chick has posted a fabulous interview with the very lovely Matt Davis on her website, Some very original questions… Here’s a little peak, but be sure to visit her site to check out the rest of the article

Last night, The Vampire Diaries made its triumphant return. I am so glad it’s back, as heartbreaking as “The Descent” was. It left a lot of questions in my mind: we know vampires can control dreams but did we know Damon was capable, was Jules holding out and there is a way to cure vampire bites, and where the heck is Isobel? Alaric was back in last night’s episode, getting into the mix a little bit by helping Stefan (possibly) contact Isobel. Instead, Uncle John returns and we have no idea what he wants. I recently had the chance to visit the set of the show in Atlanta, where I spoke with Matt Davis (who plays Alaric). He talked about what he wants to see from Alaric going forward, his relationship with Jenna, and whether he might team up with the vampires.

So you’ve really come a long way from playing one of my favorites Warner on Legally Blonde. What do you like most about playing Alaric?
I like playing Alaric because of his relationships. I love working with Ian and his character and our banter and I love that he’s not a supernatural figure. He’s just a man and he’s a teacher and he’s been thrust into this supernatural circumstance. And I like the elements of action behind him. He makes his own weapons, and he’s his own investigator and he’s sort of paired up with Stefan and Damon. And Damon in particular who’s the bad guy you love to — he’s not really the bad guy, he’s just sort of amoral (laughs). He’s constantly challenging Alaric in that aspect. But for those reasons, I enjoy playing Alaric. And his name.
