In this first video I ask Candice what it’s like playing the best character on TVD; how much of her own personality shows up in Caroline’s dialogue; and how she answers questions about her character without really knowing what’s in store.
This second clip amounts to an extended outtake in which I ask a really inappropriate question: Why isn’t Candice Accola in more movies? I definitely intended the question to be funnier than it came across (nervous!) but watch as Candice deflects what would be an awkward question for any up-and-coming actor and lets us in on how she and her co-stars razz each other about work they aren’t as proud of. This lady is charming.
The parental relationships on Vampire Diaries have often led to the show’s most emotional and frustrating moments — but regardless of the hardships the characters endure because of their lineage, it all is in service of creating a more well-rounded picture of these people. That’s why bringing in Bonnie’s mother Abby was such an important development in the third season.
Unfortunately for both Bennett women, their reunion excitement was short-lived (understatement of the century) as the barely healed wound covering Bonnie’s abandonment issues was continually torn open by Abby’s apathetic actions. Oh, and Abby was turned into a vampire for her troubles. With only three episodes left in the season, I caught up with actress Persia White to find out where these two can go from here.

Executive producer Julie Plec told Hollywood Crush and a select handful of television press that she knows exactly how “The Vampire Diaries” will end someday.
During the writing process for season two, she and series co-creator Kevin Williamson sat in a hotel lobby and plotted the entire endgame. “Kevin and I came up with our end plan, sitting in the mall lobby of the W Midtown in Atlanta on a Sunday early in season two,” she recalled. “We were tired, and stressed, and talked about the last moment of the show, the last character moments of the show, and both started to cry in the middle of the mall. We just felt like that was right. And so, assuming that he and I are both around…assuming that he and I are lucky enough to survive into season 20…then yeah. We know how we want it to end.
ASSIGNMENT X got a chance to catch up with THE VAMPIRE DIARIES star Daniel Gillies recently at the NBC SUMMER PRESS DAY at the Langham Huntington Hotel & Spa in Pasadena.
Daniel was there to promote his new NBC series SAVING HOPE (debuting this summer), and although his storyline on THE VAMPIRES DIARIES is not over yet. In SAVING HOPE Daniel stars as Dr. Joel Goran, along with Erica Durance (SMALLVILLE) and Michael Shanks (STARGATE ATLANTIS).

It’s time for another dance on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and you know what that means — expect some serious shenanigans.
In fact, when I sat down with Candice Accola (Caroline) last week, she pointed to “Do Not Go Gentle” as one of her upcoming favorite hours. Plus, she revealed that in the episode, there is something the actors need to do that they aren’t so great at.
So what was it? Take a look…
