02. THE VAMPIRE DIARIES (The CW?)

If you’re still one of those too-good-for-The-CW television consumers, you’re losing ground fast: not only is The Vampire Diaries? the fifth-place-network’s runaway hit, but it’s the fastest moving show on television, a breakneck saga in a town dominated by a dangerously coquettish collection of vampires, werewolves, witches, and villains all at each other’s throats for the life of the precious doppelganger Elena (Nina Dobrev?). As she’s suddenly split from the now-evil Stefan (Paul Wesley?, and that takes more explaining than you know), the other Salvatore Damon (Ian Somerhalder?) goes from bad boy to hero while Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is determined to rule the world with his wolf-vamp hybrids. The witchcraft is complicated enough, but it’s all amplified by these tangled relations, and the ties that bind are just another brilliant layer to this intricately-woven saga of love, loss, and family. Dobrev, Wesley, Morgan and Smolderhalder lead a talented pack of actors with looks to die for. – Terron R. Moore

What do Jason Behr, Kristen Bell, Sophia Bush, Eliza Dushku and Devon Sawa have in common, besides the fact that they’re all really, really good looking?

They were among the most popular choices submitted by WWK readers when we asked you guys to dream cast the two Original siblings we’ve yet to meet on the CW’s Vampire Diaries.

In a completely shocking turn of events, many of your Original suggestions included actors who are no strangers to the CW network, including several Supernatural stars and an extremely “epic” Ringer guest star. So who made the cut?

The Vampire Diaries’ Originals: 10 people who should emerge from the coffins

Last season, we made some predictions as to which lucky actor might play Klaus, “The Vampire Diaries” most-feared villain. Of course, we were way off, because Joseph Morgan didn’t even cross our minds, and he’s perfection.

Still, we haven’t given up on our dream of being the best backseat casting director ever, so we’re back with some new suggestions as to who will play the remaining two Originals.

At least, we think there are only two left. If Mama Original bore 7 children, then only two remain to be met, since one died in Europe, Henrik was killed, and we already know Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah. Some fans speculate that the first dead kid doesn’t count and that Stefan is actually carting around four coffins, including Elijah’s. We’ll see!

There’s no word yet on who the remaining Originals may be (though other sites have reported an Original named Finn is on his way, we haven’t been able to confirm that the character is actually one of the siblings, so we’re holding off!). While we wait for word from our sources, we figured we’d have a little fun and make some wild (and not-so-wild) suggestions as to who might be next to join the family.

When people ask me what I want for my birthday, the one thing I can think of that means more to me than anything else is the success of ISF. I see, hear and read the potential in all the youth we come into contact with and I don’t want to let them down. No one gives them the credit, or the support their brilliance deserves, and I really want to provide them with whatever they need to become our future. I can’t do that without your help. There are so many cats and dogs who are in serious need of our collective love, and although it seems daunting, our unified giving can become long term solutions for these beautiful furry friends.

Finding answers to our planetary issues, saving our fellow living beings, and empowering our greatest asset (our youth) is what matters to me most. If you were intending to send me a gift for my birthday, thank you–seriously. It’s incredible that people take time out just for me… but if you are intending to send a gift this year, I beg of you not to. Let’s not add to our accumulated demand on this planet: resources, manufacturing, packaging, shipping…

If you really are driven to still give, the best birthday present I could possibly imagine receiving is a donation to ISF. Everyone who has it within their hearts to support ISF deserves some respect and love, and the only way I know how to give a little of this to so very many is to try my very best to try to send each and everyone of you a personal email. I want to reach out so I can thank you for your support and learn a little about you to discover how you fit into this remarkable family. I know that seems crazy! But it’s important to me to be able to connect and bond with all of ISF. So while it may take me some time to respond to everyone, I will do my best to try to thank each and everyone of you for sharing whatever you can with ISF.
Gratitude typing fingers ready to fire! Thanks for even taking the time to read the above. You guys are freakin awesome.

The December 8-15 issue of TV Guide and EP Julie Plec tease the return of The Vampire Diaries in 2012. When “The New Deal” airs, Mystic Falls will be in turmoil with Stefan and Klaus ready to go head to head. We all know Klaus keeps his ‘sleeping’ family locked up safe and sound in those handy coffins he totes around, but clearly he still has some love for his Original family. Only a bit more than a month remaining for the TVD hiatus and we’ll continue the awesome journey that is season 3.

“Mystic Falls is in the hands of Klaus. Stefan and Klaus want to destroy each other, but they’re unwilling to face the consequences if things go wrong. It’s a Mexican standoff.”

The names of the episodes:

Episode 3.10 ~ “The New Deal”
Episode 3.11 ~ “Our Town”
Episode 3.12 ~ “The Ties That Bind”
Episode 3.13 ~ “Bringing Out The Dead”

The Vampire Diaries: It’s Time to Dream Cast the Remaining Original Siblings!

When Elijah told Elena (Nina Dobrev) about his family’s history in the season two episode “Klaus,” he said there were seven siblings. We’ve already met four—Klaus, Eljah, Rebekah and Henrick, whose death in this season’s flashback episode, “Ordinary People,” led their parents to create the vampire curse so that they’d never have to lose another child. Still with us? Good. In that episode, Rebekah revealed to Elena (Nina Dobrev) that their family moved to Mystic Falls after one of her siblings died of the plague in Europe.

That leaves us with two siblings left unaccounted for. Sure, Stefan (Paul Wesley) seemed to have more than two caskets in the final moments of the midseason finale, but don’t forget he also has Elijah—and we think he was just hanging out in Casket Depot or something. Why? Because we like to be right.
