The cast of “The Vampire Diaries” has endured a lot for their art: fast-paced stunts, fake blood, corsets, shower scenes, you name it. A crucial flashback episode coming later this season will require perhaps the most demanding training thus far: SCUBA lessons!

Having already shown us the 19th century, the ’20s, “1912” and more, “The Vampire Diaries” will soon flashback to that fateful night when Elena (Nina Dobrev) lost her parents on the newly restored Wickery Bridge and was rescued by vampire Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). We don’t know who will be playing Grayson and Miranda Gilbert just yet. But we do know there’ll be lots of underwater work.

Thursdays may be jam-packed with television but things on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES are getting craaaaazy.

I caught up with TVD star Paul Wesley (Stefan) before the recent PaleyFest panel honoring his series to find out which Original will be most difficult for Stefan to lose if/when they manage to kill them, what Elena needs to do before she can reunite with Stefan, which relationship he wishes had played out longer and more…

Mar 29th: ‘Vampire Diaries’: Joseph Morgan on Klaus’ Tyler Problem, Caroline and Surviving the Curse

Jen | Categories: Interviews, Joseph Morgan, Season 3, Spoilers, The Vampire Diaries, TV Series | Comments Off on ‘Vampire Diaries’: Joseph Morgan on Klaus’ Tyler Problem, Caroline and Surviving the Curse

The Originals are in danger, again, on The Vampire Diaries.

Now that Damon, Stefan and company are in possession of wood — made into deadly stakes — that could very well eliminate the threat of Klaus, Rebekah and the Original family (thanks to the binding spell), how the centuries-old supernatural beings will get out of this is the subject of tonight’s episode, “The Murder of One.”

Joseph Morgan, who plays hybrid Klaus, told The Hollywood Reporter that there will be hell to pay in Mystic Falls. “[Klaus will] threaten and manipulate and blackmail his way to those weapons however he can,” he said of his character’s antics.

But the “heroes,” as Morgan called them, will have their work cut out for them. “They’re going to be incredibly hard to kill and it’s going to require absolute teamwork [from the others],” he previewed.

Whether Klaus and his siblings come out on top remains to be seen, but in a chat with THR, Morgan previewed Tyler’s return and how that affects Klaus, motives with Caroline and the standoff between Stefan and Klaus.

Mar 29th: ‘Vampire Diaries’: Joseph Morgan talks tonight’s torture scene and the shot you weren’t allowed to see

Jen | Categories: Interviews, Joseph Morgan, Season 3, Spoilers, The Vampire Diaries, TV Series | Comments Off on ‘Vampire Diaries’: Joseph Morgan talks tonight’s torture scene and the shot you weren’t allowed to see

“He’s trying to get Bonnie to help him break the spell, and as we know from watching Klaus, people will often end up as collateral damage in his wake,” Morgan says. “So he’ll try to use someone Bonnie cares about in order to manipulate her into doing his will.” Is he talking about Abby? Jamie? Jeremy? “There’s a few people, isn’t there?” Morgan laughs. “This little Vampire Diaries Scooby-Doo hero squad is a very tight-knit group. He has a choice.” Klaus’ brother Finn is back in the picture, so we assume Klaus will also be using Sage, who we know has a history with Finn, to manipulate him as well? “Certainly, if it seems to Klaus that Sage is gonna be valuable in that way, he’s gonna take advantage of every tool in his box,” Morgan says.

You know The Vampire Diaries is getting scary if even the Originals are shaking in their boots! Now that Stefan and Damon have discovered some leftover white oak tree (thanks, Wickery Bridge sign!), they’ve got a stash of deadly weapons. But Klaus is prepared to fight back to save himself and his siblings — but mostly just himself. Well, maybe Rebekah, too. Below, Joseph Morgan previews the lengths to which his bad, bad hybrid will go in tonight’s episode and dishes about missing Stefan and wooing Caroline.

Mar 29th: Matt’s Inside Line (tvline) has some TVD Scoop

Jen | Categories: Season 3, Spoilers, The Vampire Diaries, TV Series | Comments Off on Matt’s Inside Line (tvline) has some TVD Scoop

The Vampire Diaries | We start this week off with a dip inside the reader mailbag, and a question dear to many a TVLine editor’s heart, courtesy of Marilla: “Do you have any Vampire Diaries/Bonnie Bennett spoilers?” Right? We expressed our own curiosity about Bonnie’s storyline in last week’s 20ish Questions column. Let’s see if Julie Plec can sate our thirst. “Bonnie hits her emotional threshold this week, but don’t despair,” the exec producer tells the Inside Line. “She finds a nice bit of hope when she gets closer to Jamie and takes him as her date to the Decade Dance where he gets a glimpse of Bonnie the hero in action.” Works for us!

Mar 29th: Cassidy Freeman Teases “Life-Changing Surprise” for Sage on The Vampire Diaries

Jen | Categories: Interviews, Season 3, Spoilers, The Vampire Diaries, TV Series | Comments Off on Cassidy Freeman Teases “Life-Changing Surprise” for Sage on The Vampire Diaries

Sage delivered a pair of shocks to Damon on last week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, first showing up in Mystic Falls after a century away, and then turning on him by burning down the town bridge.

But the unexpected tables will turn on this ancient blood sucker tonight, Cassidy Freeman told me over the phone.

“Sage has a big surprise coming,” the actress teased of events ahead on “The Murder of One.” “And it’s definitely life-changing.”

A Returning Sage

Freeman couldn’t divulge many details, of course, but she did confirm Sage will come face-to-face with Finn this week, along his disapproving siblings, including a returning Klaus.

What exactly is the problem these Originals have with the redhead?

“Imagine your brother’s high school girlfriend,” Freeman explained. “Except it’s not high school. You’re a vampire and you live forever. To Klaus and Rebekah, Sage isn’t good enough to be with Finn. They’re full of animosity, there’s a lack of respect all around.”

Look for the Originals’ storyline to “come to a head” by the end of the hour, as well, Freeman previewed.

What role might Sage play in their fate? It’s unknown if the character will be back when The Vampire Diaries returns on April 19, but Freeman says she’ll try to have the most fun she can in the meantime.

“She’s 900 years old. She accepts that this is the way it is. She doesn’t think anything is gonna change any time soon, so her M.O. is to have a really good time, to live life to the fullest.”

And maybe offer Elena some advice before she departs? I asked Freeman what Sage might say to this confused teen, stuck between two attractive vampires.

“She’d tell her to get over it,” the actress said. “Just get over it and get in the shower with them!”

Mar 29th: Robert Ri’chard Teases Closeness to Come Between Jamie and Bonnie on The Vampire Diaries

Jen | Categories: Interviews, Season 3, Spoilers, The Vampire Diaries, TV Series | Comments Off on Robert Ri’chard Teases Closeness to Come Between Jamie and Bonnie on The Vampire Diaries

They may share a last name, but The Vampire Diaries has made it very clear: Jamie Bennett is NOT Bonnie Bennett’s brother. Did you catch that not-so-subtle line on last Thursday’s episode?

It was reiterated to me again last night on the phone with Robert Ri’chard, who has come on board The CW thriller in the role of Abbie’s adopted son. What did producers tell him about the role when he first signed on?

“They made it clear I’m not Bonnie’s brother,” the actor said. “I’m not family to her, but I’m gonna play an important, personal role in her life.”

Meaning what, exactly? Will romantic sparks fly? Robert Ri’chard couldn’t say, but he did elaborate on a bond that forms between the pair.

With Abby out of both of their lives, Jamie and Bonnie will grow “closer and closer,” Robert Ri’chard teased. “She’s the only person he can turn to. Yes, she’s a witch… but she’s also really pretty!”

And what does Bonnie see in Jamie? (Not that the actor isn’t handsome, of course).

“He’s paternal,” Ri’chard said. “He’s strong. She really admires his strength. There’s a protective nature about him him, which it helpful in this town of vampires, witches and werewolves.”
