Jul 1st: Best. Ever. TV. Awards 2014: Vote for the Breakout Stars of the Year!

Jen | Categories: Charles Michael Davis, Contests, Fan Stuff, The Originals, The Vampire Diaries | Comments Off on Best. Ever. TV. Awards 2014: Vote for the Breakout Stars of the Year!

Let’s hear it for the newcomers!

With huge stars flocking to TV, it ain’t easy for newcomers to make their mark these days, which makes this season’s crop of scenestealers even more impressive. We’d like to see you steal the spotlight from Game of Thrones’ insanely talented (and massive!) cast or go toe-to-toe with James Spader and hold your own.

Today’s round of competition in our 2014 Best. Ever. TV. Awards is all about the season’s breakout stars, the newbies who made such an impact on the small screen that it’s hard to remember our DVRs before they were on ’em!

While several stars from freshman series, such as Sleepy Hollow’s two leads and Reign’s young queen, all made the short list of nominations, actors who joined established hits such as Once Upon a Time, The Vampire Diaries and Orphan Black are also in the running to win Breakout Stars of the Year. (Last year’s winners? Arrow’s Emily Bett Rickards and Beauty and the Beast’s Jay Ryan.)

Voting in this round, as well as every other category in our annual tourney, comes to an end on Sunday, July 6 at 5 p.m. PT. And honestly, we can’t think of a better way to spend your holiday weekend than by voting as often and as many times as you’d like for your favorite series and stars.

And make sure your fellow fans are rocking the vote, too, by tweeting about the competition using the #BestEverTVAwards hashtag on Twitter.

Jun 30th: 21 Actors Offer Their TV Characters One Piece Of Advice

Jen | Categories: Daniel Gillies, Danielle Campbell, Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, The Originals, The Vampire Diaries | 1 Comment

2. Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert, The Vampire Diaries)
“Run. Like the wind. Get the fuck out of that town.”

10. Danielle Campbell (Davina Claire, The Originals)
“There is a saying: Trust, but verify. I think it really relates to Davina. She has been betrayed over and over to the point where she no longer trusts people and has shut herself off to the world. My advice would be to keep herself open to let people in. If she wants to be loved and have friendships, she needs to learn that the whole world isn’t out to get her. While she must be cautious, she can’t spend her life hiding.”

17. Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore, The Vampire Diaries)
“Take a step back, grow some balls, man up, go chop some wood, and be a lumberjack for a while.”

19. Daniel Gillies (Elijah Mikaelson, The Originals)
“You can’t save Klaus [Joseph Morgan].”

Jun 26th: Best. Ever. TV. Awards 2014: Most Heartbreaking Goodbye?

Jen | Categories: Contests, Fan Stuff, The Originals, The Vampire Diaries | Comments Off on Best. Ever. TV. Awards 2014: Most Heartbreaking Goodbye?

Goodbye is the hardest word.

Today’s round of voting in our 2014 Best. Ever. TV. Awards is all about paying respect to the shows and characters we lost this season.

The TV graveyard welcomed a whole slew of series when the networks made some brutal cancellations in May in order to make way for their new crops of shows. While some were long-running faves, like Community, others were freshman series that were taken from us way too soon. (Miss you, Enlisted!)

Plus, we’re also reliving some of the small screen’s toughest goodbyes of the year, whether it be a team member exiting a series (Yes, we are looking at you, NCIS and Criminal Minds!) or a beloved couple parting ways.
Sorry in advance for reopening old wounds!

Voting in these rounds, as well as all the other rounds of our annual competition, comes to a close on Sunday, July 6, at 5 p.m. PT, which means you have plenty of time to make sure your favorite takes home the prize. And remember to use the #BestEverTVAwards hashtag on Twitter to spread the word within your fandom!

Jen | Categories: Contests, Fan Stuff, The Originals, The Vampire Diaries | Comments Off on Best. Ever. TV. Awards 2014: Vote for the Sexiest Moment and Biggest Tearjerker Now!

What goes better together than hot kisses and ugly crying your face off?

Pretty much anything, but those two are going hand-in-hand in today’s round of voting in our 2014 Best. Ever. TV. Awards, our annual campaign to find the best of the best when it comes to the small screen.

2014 was filled with some seriously steamy moments, but dare we say the sadness outweighed the sexy this TV season? Seriously, we cried. A lot.

But now the time has come to crown the sexiest moment and the biggest tearjerker of the year!

Voting in these rounds, as well as in all the other categories of our tourney, closes on Sunday, July 6 at 5 p.m. PT, and you’re allowed to vote as often and as many times as you’d like. So there, you finally have an excuse to stay inside this summer: your TV favorites are depending on you!

We love to hate them. We hate to love them.

No, wait. We aren’t going to feel bad about loving these TV characters, thank you very much! Today’s round of voting in our 2014 Best. Ever. TV. Awards, our annual tourney to determine the best of the small screen, is all about the villains, either straight-up baddies or of the misunderstood variety.

The time has come for you to weigh in on TV’s Best Baddie and Best Bitch, with some seriously sinister and snarky names in the running!

Below are the 15 nominees for each category, with fan favorites from Scandal, Game of Thrones, The Vampire Diaries and Once Upon a Time making the cut.

Voting in this round, as well as all the other Best. Ever. TV. Awards polls, comes to a close on Sunday, July 6 at 5 p.m. PT, and you can vote as often and as many times as you’d like. We suggest apologizing to your soon-to-be neglected family and friends in advance.
