The Vampire Diaries star Joseph Morgan, along with Walton Goggins, Ron Perlman and newcomer Nicole Badaan will topline Dermaphoria, an adaptation of Craig Clevenger’s cult novel.

Ross Clarke wrote the script and is directing. He is also producing with his Keep the Car Running partner Teryn Fogel and Upload Films’ Nick Thurlow.

Described as Memento meets Breaking Bad, the story centers on a brilliant chemist (Morgan) who wakes up in jail after a drug-lab explosion and is suffering from amnesia. Trapped between cops who want to arrest him and heavies who will stop at nothing to get the formula buried deep inside his head, the man needs to piece together memories fragmented by a powerful new drug and find his missing girlfriend.

The movie is heading toward a June 23 start in New Orleans.

Aperture Entertainment’s Adam Goldworm will executive produce with Jonah Loop.

Morgan is coming off several seasons of Vampire Diaries and will now star in its spinoff, The Originals. The actor — who is repped by WME, Richard Konigsberg and Curtis Brown Group — has the thriller Open Grave with Sharlto Copley in the can.

Goggins stars in FX’s Justified and recently appeared in Django Unchained and G.I. Joe: Retaliation. He is repped by ICM and Darris Hatch Management

Perlman, who stars in FX’s Sons of Anarchy and will appear in Pacific Rim, is repped by Kritzer Levine and Bloom Hergott.

Dermaphoria is the feature debut for Badaan, who is repped by Aperture Entertainment.

There are so many reasons to adore Arielle Kebbel: she’s down-to-earth, hilarious, tough as nails and, above all, an important member of the Vampire Diaries family. Whenever Lexi Branson makes an appearance on the show — whether she returns as a ghost or pops up in a flashback — fang fans always excited to reunite with her. Well, The CW must have noticed how awesome Arielle is as Lexi and as the host of TVD’s #Rehash videos because the network has cast the blonde bombshell as the host of Perfect Score!

We recently caught up with Arielle to chat about her new reality series and her involvement with upcoming episodes of Vampire Diaries Season 5 and The Originals. Check out our exclusive interview below!

Alloy Entertainment: Congrats on your hosting gig! How does this new dating show differ from others such as The Bachelor?
Arielle Kebbel: It’s called Perfect Score. It airs July 16, 2013. And it’s a dating game show similar to Singled Out. The contestants take a compatibility test before they come on the show and then, through process of elimination, they try to pick their most compatible person. They also have a chance to win $50,000. Therefore they take it super seriously but, at the same time, there are all these crazy challenges and random things happening on stage. Moreover, they’re best friends who are competing against each other, so there’s some drama there. The best part is that I get to host the whole thing!

Hemsworth, who had a recurring role in hit Australian series Neighbours, recently co-starred in Australian thriller The Reckoning and is due to appear in Luke Sparke’s First World War drama The 34th Battalion.

Nina Dobrev Starts Work On ‘Let’s Be Cops’

Author: Jen | May 28, 2013 | Comments Off on Nina Dobrev Starts Work On ‘Let’s Be Cops’

Filed Under: | Nina Dobrev, Non TVD Projects

Curious as to how “Vampire Diaries” star Nina Dobrev is spending her hiatus from the CW’s bloodsucking series (besides, you know, chowing down on hamburgers with Julianne Hough)? Well, the actress is back on set—albeit for a very different project.

The actress took to Twitter today to shout out her first day at work on “Let’s Be Cops,” sharing a pic of herself and co-star Damon Wayans Jr. The film centers around two best friend who pose as law enforcers…until they run into an honest-to-goodness gangster and things, invariably, go haywire. Nina stars as Damon’s love interest, and if this pic is any indication, the two look to have awesome chemistry already.

“Let’s Be Cops” marks the reunion of “New Girl” star Jake Johnson and Damon, whom you may recall appeared in the pilot episode of the Fox series while the fate of “Happy Endings” was up in the air. The film is slated for a 2014 release.

Candice Accola: Growing Pains

Author: Jen | May 1, 2013 | Comments Off on Candice Accola: Growing Pains

Filed Under: | Candice Accola, Interviews, Magazines, Non TVD Projects, The Vampire Diaries

CANDICE ACCOLA may chomp on necks as The Vampire Diaries‘s Caroline Forbes, but offscreen, she admits to loving strawberry banana Greek yogurt with Maché granola. Blood is an acquired taste, after all.

“I was excited to sink my teeth in a pair of fangs.”

If Caroline were a real person, would you wanna be friends with her? If there was anything she taught you at all, what would it be?
Caroline has proved to be a good friend as the seasons have gone on. She doesn’t always do everything right, but she tries. Caroline’s reminded me to let myself off the hook when I put my foot in my mouth. Also that I’m not the only one in the world that goes a little koo koo when she’s hosting a party.

Where were you when you found out that Caroline was going to be a vampire? How did you react to it? Were you surprised?
Caroline becoming a vampire was discussed on and off throughout season one. I was excited to sink my teeth in a pair of fangs.

What would you rather date, a werewolf or a vampire?
In my single years, I’m sure I’ve dated one of each!

You play the role of Chloe in Season 2 of Dating Rules from My Future Self; if there would be one dating advice you could give to all the teens out there, what would it be?
Dating is not always easy. However the root of your relationship should make both people in the relationship happy. There should be more happy moments than sad. And never ever should you or your partner resort to name calling. Even if you’re in a fight, you should still respect each other.

Off the TV, what does Candice like to to do?
Watch TV! I love to cook and have dinners with my friends. I love the park. My friends coordinated a glow-in-the-dark ultimate frisbee game, and everyone came over after for chili and cornbread I made the night before. Good wine, food, friends, and family. That’s my idea of a good time now.
