Aug 17th: Aussie actor Phoebe Tonkin is face of Witchery Balance activewear

Jen | Categories: Interviews, Non TVD Projects, Phoebe Tonkin | 1 Comment

PHOEBE TONKIN is very healthy for a near-extinct, shapeshifting supernatural werewolf. Of course, she’s only that on telly (she stars in HBO’s The Vampire Diaries and The Originals). In real life, Tonkin, 26, is decidedly un-undead. A green-living, rosy-cheeked, ballet-bodied hiking fan, she co-founded the Your Zen Life blog with her actor mate Teresa Palmer.

Actually, Tonkin has just resigned from official duties there due to time constraints — Vampire films in Atlanta, and she regularly works 16-hour days.

“When we started the site almost five years ago, there weren’t lots of other health blogs,” she says.

“It wasn’t so much of a business back then, as a hobby. Now we realise what an incredible thing we created and I want to allow it to flourish.”

She and Palmer still talk all the time — “I’m a sidelines supporter” — and Tonkin remains invested in the issues that drive the site.

Aug 11th: The Original’s Nathan Parsons to Star in Indie Thriller ‘Pet’

Jen | Categories: Non TVD Projects, The Originals | Comments Off on The Original’s Nathan Parsons to Star in Indie Thriller ‘Pet’

Dominic Monaghan, Orphan Black actress Ksenia Solo, iCarly’s Jennette McCurdy and Nathan Parsons of The Originals are starring in indie horror thriller Pet.

Carles Torrens, who directed the 2012 horror film Apartment 143, is behind the camera for the movie, which began production this week and is a co-production between Revolver Picture Company and Spanish company Magic Lantern.

Written by Jeremy Slater, the story centers on an introverted man who imprisons a woman, only to find the tables turned on him. The project is said to be tonally in the vein of Gone Girl and Hard Candy.

The project has been in the works since about 2007, when it was first set up at MGM. Monaghan has been intent on making the feature since at least 2008.

Torrens is producing alongside Revolver’s Nick Phillips and Kelly Martin Wagner. Revolver was involved in horror movies such as Haunt and Beneath.

Monaghan, repped by APA, is best known for his key roles in The Lord of the Rings trilogy as well as ABC’s Lost. He is shooting the third season of his travel show Wild Things With Dominic Monaghan, which returns to the Travel Channel January 2016.

In addition to Orphan Black, Solo appears on AMC’s Revolutionary War show Turn. She is repped by Paradigm.

McCurdy, who also appeared on Sam & Cat, is part of Netflix’s Between. She is repped by UTA and Management 360.

Parsons, whose credits include HBO’s True Blood, is repped by Innovative and Creative Partners Group.

Jen | Categories: Interviews, Nathaniel Buzolic, Non TVD Projects, Spoilers, The Originals, The Vampire Diaries, TV Series | Comments Off on Nathaniel Buzolic Talks SIGNIFICANT MOTHER and His Hesitation to Do Comedy

HIS NEW SERIES PREMIERES TONIGHT @ 9:30pm!!!

On The CW comedy series Significant Mother, Nate’s (Josh Zuckerman) world is turned upside down when he comes back from a business trip to find that his best friend and roommate, Jimmy (Nathaniel Buzolic), is now dating his recently separated mother (Krista Allen). To make matters worse, Nate’s previously disinterested dad (Jonathan Silverman) is now determined to win Lydia back.

During this exclusive phone interview with Collider, actor Nathaniel Buzolic (best known for playing Kol on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries and The Originals) talked about why he was hesitant to do comedy, how empowering it is to play a character that’s not self-conscious, how Jimmy tries to make the best of any situation, why Jimmy and Nate’s friendship works, and why understanding comedy is an important skill set for an actor to have. He also talked about how he’d love to revisit his role as Kol, how grateful he is that fans love the character so much, and being just a little bit jealous about seeing another actor embody Kol last season.

Jen | Categories: Chris Wood, Non TVD Projects | Comments Off on Exclusive: Chris Wood to Narrate New ‘Shadowhunter Academy’ Audiobook ‘The Evil We Love’

The next narrator for Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy has got one killer reputation on The Vampire Diaries. And how fitting that it’s an evil we love.

Chris Wood will narrate the audiobook for “The Evil We Love,” the next installment of Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy, TMI Source has exclusively learned.

“After seeing the fantastic Chris Wood’s killer turn in The Vampire Diaries, we are absolutely sure he is perfect for this tale of kids born wrong, kids who choose wrong–and the kids who might learn to choose right,” said Cassandra Clare.

Wood is best known for his role as Kai in The Vampire Diaries last season and will star in The CW’s freshman drama Containment, which will premiere midseason in 2016.

“The Evil We Love” is written by Clare and Robin Wasserman.
