Natalie: Chase, thanks so much for agreeing to speak with us. We know you as an actor and musician but can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Chase: I grew up in Louisiana and moved to NY when I was 21 years old to pursue acting professionally. I had a blast in NY for about 7 years working on many major prime time TV shows as well as many independent films and a few off Broadway plays. I moved to Los Angeles in January of 2013 and about a year later was offered the role of Oliver on the Originals. Beyond acting I’m a computer geek who loves games as well as building computers. I also love to play soccer and football.
Natalie: Did you always want to be an entertainer?
Chase: I knew I wanted to perform in some way or another growing up and getting in trouble in class because I was too noisy and rowdy making the other classmates laugh. 😉
Natalie: When did you start playing guitar and singing?
Chase: Around when I was 16, but I played off and on since then.
Natalie: Do you want to further pursue a music career?
Chase: ABSOLUTELY. Jared Leto is a huge inspiration to me, as a musician and actor, and his career is something I aspire to.
Natalie: What was your first paid acting role?
Chase: The actual first role of substance I think meant something to my career was the role of Garrett on One Life to Live in 2006.
Natalie: Can you tell us about your audition for The Originals?
Chase: The sides they give us to read for the audition are dummy sides, and they were actually sides from an old scene from The Vampire Diaries. They used those scenes to decide whether or not I had the qualities they wanted for Oliver in The Originals.
Natalie: If you weren’t an entertainer, what do you think you would be doing?
Chase: Probably something with computers or soccer. 😉
Natalie: Chase, do you have any causes or charities close to your heart?
Chase: Yes, actually right now I’m working with an amazing group of women who are my admins for my newly made organization, Army of Chase. We’re working with an anti bullying charity as our first choice, but we don’t want to list the name just now since we’re just getting started.
Natalie: Can you tell us a few of your favourites in film, music & television?
Chase: Films: Braveheart, The Saint, The Crow, Troy, A Single Man, Shame, Drive, The Believer, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit, Somewhere in Time, The Place Beyond the Pines, Equilibrium

Natalie: What is your dream role?
Chase: A role as a warrior in a Viking epic type film.
Natalie: Do you have any upcoming projects that you can tell us about?
Chase: Not yet… 😉
Natalie: You seem to have a great rapport with the fans. Do you have a message for them?
Chase has graciously recorded this special message just for you guys!
Natalie: Is there anything else you would like to say or share?
Video above 😉
