The Originals: The Rise: Arriving in New Orleans in 1722, the Original vampire siblings hope they’ve escaped their dangerous past. The Originals: The Loss: Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah have finally wrested control of New Orleans from the witches and werewolves who once called it home—but to get the one thing he desires above all else, Klaus must put his trust in a witch with the power to unleash an ancient curse upon his family.
The Originals: The Resurrection: The Mikaelson siblings are determined to make New Orleans their own once and for all. But with Elijah besotted with a beautiful witch and Rebekah pursuing the key to her family’s immortality, the reins are in Klaus’s hands… and his thirst for vengeance and power might tear his family apart for good.

Jen | Categories: Books, L.J. Smith | Comments Off on L. J. Smith’s new Vampires Diaries series
a new blog post from Lj Smith (the writer of the TVD book series)…
I’m very pleased to finally be able to make this announcement. I apologize for having kept all of you waiting so long, but getting everything finalized took longer than I initially thought it would. As some of you probably know, Amazon has launched a new area called Kindle Worlds. This is a place where people can write fan fictions based on certain books, movies, shows, games, and music. The Vampire Diaries is one of the series that Amazon has obtained the license to include in their Worlds. This means that I can continue to write my version of The Vampire Diaries. (Remember, these books are written as fan fiction and are not part of the official series.
See below for the book “covers” and descriptions of the novels.
The Evensong arc will pick up more or less where Midnight left off and takes place in an alternate world from the official books that follow Midnight. The three books in this arc are Paradise Lost, The War of Roses, and Into the Wood. The first novel, Paradise Lost, and the first part of the second novel, The War of Roses, will be available

Jen | Categories: Books, The Vampire Diaries | Comments Off on First Look: Hunting for Trouble in The Vampire Diaries Comic Book
Here’s a tasty visual buffet for fans of The Vampire Diaries to sink their teeth into while waiting for the bloody CW drama to return on Thursday, Jan. 23. TV Guide Magazine has an exclusive preview of the next chapter of DC Comics’ digital comic adaptation of the show, available Thursday.
In this ninth chapter of the series, a guy out for a day of hunting game near vampire-infested Mystic Falls meets three hunters of a very different sort throughout the day: Damon and Stefan Salvatore, and Elena Gilbert!
“Initially, I pitched stories where Stefan and Damon Salvatore just kind of wrestled in swim wear,” jokes writer Leah Moore, (daughter of legendary Watchmen creator Alan Moore). “But after the tenth such pitch was rejected, I sensed our editor losing patience. I had to think of more varied material. In this resulting [piece], I want the reader to stumble into the story as unaware as the character does. I want the whole world of The Vampire Diaries to be glimpsed at, and then passed, already in the rear view.”
“If you’ve never seen an episode of The Vampire Diaries or read a word of the books, our story would hopefully make you think, ‘Hey, what’s going on here,'” says Moore’s co-writer (and husband), John Reppion. “If you’re already a fan, there’s a story hidden between the panel borders that should give you a thrill.”
Click here to see a preview from “Day of the Hunter.” New chapters of The Vampire Diaries digital comics are available Thursdays at readdcentertainment.com and via the DC Comics app, the iBookstore, Nook Store and Kindle Store. The first printed collection is on sale at comic book shops now.
